Our new HF radio station Карта („Karta“) is a continuation of the series of professional shortwave radio stations of Soviet production, such as "Nedra" and "Karat". Made with modern circuitry and SMD radio components, using digital signal processing, they are able to take their rightful place in the backpack of an amateur or professional traveler. Fisheries inspectors, professional hunters, geologists or cartographers, geophysicists or forest workers - all of them will find appreciate using  "Uleima" and "Karta" in their field work away from the usual cellular networks. Due to their compactness, these radio stations will no longer be intimidating by their weight and dimensions. Having a small but capable radio station, headphones, an antenna and a battery (Uleima), the traveler can always be in touch within a radius of 150 km!
The transceiver has only one transmit button (PTT), so even the casual user will not get confused. At the Uleima Transceiver, power is connected and disconnected by physically attaching or removing the plug of the battery pack, which prevents accidental battery discharge. Great care has been taken in the development of the transmitter output stage as to not damage it during operation in the event of an antenna breakage or mismatch.

Some potential buyers might complain about the appearance of the Uleima-80 radio with its plastic case, external power ource, a usage of a standard smartphone headset made in China. "Uleima-80" was designed as an extremely small-sized and light-weight radio station for backpacking and for use from stationary objects like tents and forest huts. Its dimensions and weight are minimized as much as possible in order to facilitate transportation.
However, if there is a need for mechanically reliable, shock-resistant radios with an external push-to-talk and an internal power supply, then this now available als the Карт („Karta“) radio. A sturdy aluminum case, TNC antenna connector, external PTT, built-in battery, power switch, handle and carrying case are the main differences from Uleima. All other parameters of this three-channel shortwave SSB radio station are the same.

The radio station is very energy efficient. One battery charge can last for a week with modest usage. An LED indicator will notify the user of a decrease in supply voltage. And the HF voltage indicator on the antenna will indicate that the transmitter is working properly.

Additional equipment such as a remote speaker, a full-size antenna and power cable will enhance the quality of communication and ease of use.

The ability to connect additional devices for sending text messages add to the advantages of this radio station.

The communication range is determined by ionospheric conditions and is usually 100-200 km during the day. Communication deteriorates significantly at night.
